Advice - Preparation - Support
With over 17 years of experience as a midwife, I’ve supported hundreds of women and families through pregnancy, birth, and those early days of parenthood. I’ve worked across every area of midwifery in several hospitals, including Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where I worked as a Parent Education Midwife running weekly Multiple Birth Clinics and antenatal courses for families expecting twins and triplets.
During my career, I’ve supported women in labour wards caring for high-risk pregnancies, including inductions of labour and Caesarean births. I’ve also worked in the community, caring for women and their babies during pregnancy, after birth, and supporting families choosing to have a home birth.
My most meaningful role was supporting vulnerable women, providing continuity of care throughout their pregnancy and early motherhood. It was in this role that I saw how important it is for a woman to have someone by her side who provides both practical guidance and emotional support during this life-changing time.
Since returning permanently to Norfolk in 2022, I’ve continued supporting women locally. I worked at the Kingfisher Mother & Baby Unit, helping mothers experiencing mental health challenges in an inpatient setting, and I now work as a Senior Research Midwife at Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. Many of the families I support through my antenatal classes go on to have their babies there, which allows me to give you relevant, local insight and guidance.
I’m a mother of two, and like many parents, my own journey hasn’t always been straightforward.
My husband served in the Army and was posted abroad just nine days after our son was born, leaving me caring for a toddler and a newborn on my own. I understand first-hand how overwhelming those early days can feel, the exhaustion, the emotions, the questions, and the pressure to suddenly know how to do everything.
Because I’ve been there myself, I bring not only my professional knowledge as a midwife, but also the real-life understanding of motherhood.
I know the worries that can creep in during pregnancy. I know how important it is to feel supported, informed, and confident as you prepare for your baby.
My goal is simple: to help you feel calm, confident, and prepared for birth and life with your baby.
Through my one-to-one antenatal classes, I guide you step-by-step through:
Preparing for labour and birth
Understanding your choices and options
Knowing what to expect during labour
Learning how to care for your newborn
Getting your home practically ready for baby
Feeling mentally and emotionally prepared for parenthood
Every session is completely tailored to you — your pregnancy, your birth preferences, your questions, and your concerns.
My classes are non-judgemental, realistic, and completely bespoke. No two families are the same, and your preparation shouldn’t be either.
Rather than overwhelming you with information, I focus on what really matters: helping you turn uncertainty and anxiety into confidence and excitement as you step into parenthood.
After working with hundreds of families over the years, I know that the right support can make all the difference.
If you’d like expert guidance from an experienced midwife who understands both the clinical side of birth and the reality of becoming a parent, I’d love to support you.
