About Me

Bridie Portrait - Bump to Beyond your Birth

My name is Bridie and I’ve been a registered midwife for 10 years and currently living and working in South East London. I work directly under the Nursing and Midwifery Council, fully insured.

I’m also a mother of 2 small children so have been there myself and understand the changes that take place in your life when a baby arrives. I spend a lot of my time as a parent, flying solo due to my husband serving in the Army and when he was posted abroad 9 days after our son was born, I was left with the challenge of looking after a toddler and a new-born on my own so I really have been there and done it.

Experience.

I have worked in all settings of Midwifery including Antenatal and Postnatal care. I have worked in a number of hospitals including Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where I worked as a Parent Education Midwife and also ran a weekly Multiple Birth Clinic and monthly Multiple Birth Class.

I worked at Salisbury District Hospital as a Community Midwife where I assisted with Homebirths and carried a caseload of women.

I also have experience with working within a Labour Ward, supporting high risk women during labour and delivery, including Induction of Labour and Caesarean section.

So how can I help?

I can guide you in the planning and organisation for your new baby along with most importantly, helping you in being prepared both physically and emotionally, so that you can focus on enjoying your journey.  I have a passion for ensuring women enjoy the moment, as much as they can, rather than being caught up in the practicalities.

As a Midwife I have worked with many couples offering advice and support, as well as guiding friends and family.

So what do I offer?

I offer a one to one service within your own home setting, a service that is non-judgemental and realistic. I provide Birth Preparation Courses guiding you in preparing for your labour and birth as well as a Baby Preparation Course which covers all aspects of making sure you and your home is baby ready. I also offer postnatal visits to give advice and offer support up to 28days after your baby is born.

If you feel you could benefit from some help with preparing for your new journey or just want some advice and guidance take a look at the tailored services I offer and feel free to get in contact with me via email or give me a call for an informal chat. I’m always happy to offer more personalised packages upon request.
