Newborn Confident & Prepared Course.
Bridie instantly made us feel calm and relaxed. We both had full trust in her from the beginning. Just knowing what happens in the hospital when baby is born and knowing a little of what to expect when we bring baby home made us both feel so much better about what is to come. It was also nice to see George so engaged and asking questions.

The breastfeeding one-to-one I did alone with Bridie. Lots of friends have said to me that people prepare for almost everything and think breastfeeding just comes naturally which is often not the case. They advised me to learn a lot more on the subject instead of going into it blind. When Bridie offered me this session I was so happy to find out more.  It has definitely given me a lot more confidence.

I love following her informative Instagram and would recommend her services to anyone. They really are invaluable at such an overwhelming time.

Bump to Beyond Package

After following Bridie on Instagram for a while and reading through her website, I decided to book a Discovery Call and signed up for her Bump to Birth Package; then, later, just before my delivery, I booked Bridie for postnatal support too.

The best part about working with Bridie was feeling supported in the last few months of my pregnancy and postnatally. She offered professional and personal support as a mother and gave valuable advice. It was great knowing I could ask whatever question I needed during our sessions.

My favourite session was the Newborn Ready course which my husband Sam found informative and helped him prepare. Overall I felt more prepared and knowledgeable about what could happen, including Bridie adapting sessions to my circumstances. I would recommend Bridie’s packages to anyone expecting and thank her for her help and support.

Bump to Birth Package

Having Bridie’s support in the lead up to our son’s birth – during the middle of the midwife crisis as well as the biggest maternity scandal in history at the hospital we would be going to – brought us immense comfort and reassurance in our decision to birth our baby via planned c-section.

Every week, we would meet with Bridie and, by end the session, we’d be left feeling incredibly informed and excited to meet our baby. Should we have had any further questions outside of our planned sessions, Bridie would always offer and encourage us to get in touch with her via WhatsApp – whatever time or day it may have been.

Thank you so much for everything you did for us Bridie.

One-to-One Virtual Postnatal Support

Bridie is kind, reassuring and extremely professional. Bridie came into my life when I was feeling my loneliest and most vulnerable. I had given birth to my baby in a foreign country and did not have a support network. My doctors were excellent, and I do speak the local language, but so much was different culturally; I just wanted to know how things would be done “at home”.

Bridie was incredibly generous with her time and care for me and for my daughter: talking me through breastfeeding, sleeping, post-surgery care and recovery and all the crazy little questions and thoughts that pop into your head! She acknowledged the differences between the healthcare systems but never once allowed me to feel worried about things being different here.

My remote weekly sessions with Bridie gave me such comfort and confidence during those first few weeks of motherhood. If you need a midwife, remotely or in person, I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Bridie.

Group & One-to-One Antenatal Classes

When we were expecting our first baby, we chose to attend 2 of Bridie’s group sessions focusing on Coping in Labour and Newborn Care. In addition to this, we also had a one-to-one session at home to discuss any and everything else. We would highly recommend both formats, and even if you think you’ve covered all of the topics in one or a few group sessions, a one-to-one could still be really helpful.

The group sessions were a nice size, around 8-9 people; it wouldn’t matter if you attended with a birthing partner or on your own. They were really relaxed and open. There were plenty of opportunities to ask questions and a nice cup of tea at half-time if you weren’t quite sure of something! The fact that they are early evening sessions is helpful to fit around work as well.

The one-to-one session was our chance to ask all of the stupid questions we maybe didn’t want to ask in front of a group of people, and Bridie even helped us pack the baby’s first outfit for the hospital bag as well, which was useful (I am the most disorganised first time Mum!). You can cover whatever you want in these sessions, even if it’s something you’ve heard before or think you ought to know; it doesn’t matter. It’s a great chance to cement more things in your mind.

There were lots of useful things I learnt, particularly around signs of labour which helped me recognise when I went into labour myself.

The other thing that is really good about the private and group sessions is that Bridie is giving you perspectives as a Mum of two and a midwife with years of experience, so you couldn’t have a better person to tell you the realities of birth and the first few days with a newborn along with the pros and cons of the different topics you discuss. There is a lot of opinion around pregnancy, labour and early stages of parenthood; you won’t find that with Bridie.

Finally, another reason to sign up; if, like me, you forget everything as soon as you’re out of the room, Bridie follows everything up with easy-to-read emails. The content on Instagram is really useful for extra reminders. And you have her email address, so you can always ask more questions if you have forgotten something.

One-to-One Antenatal Classes & Pre-Birth Power Hour

Working with Bridie from Bump to Beyond Your Birth was an absolute game-changer for us! As first-time parents, we wanted to be well-prepared for the arrival of our little one, but the thought of committing to lengthy weekly group antenatal courses didn’t suit our lifestyle or interests. Thankfully, we found Bridie, who provided us with personalised 1-1 antenatal education that perfectly catered to our needs.

Towards the end of my pregnancy, I encountered some unexpected complications that required us to make important decisions about our birth plan. Bridie was again there for us, offering invaluable support and suggesting a ‘power hour’ session over Zoom. During this session, we delved into the specifics of my situation, explored C-sections in-depth, and gained the confidence we needed to make informed choices.

Thanks to Bridie’s guidance and expertise, we had a fantastic birth experience, and everyone is healthy and happy. We cannot express enough gratitude to Bridie for helping us navigate our pregnancy and birth journey, making it a positive and memorable experience. Highly recommended!

One-to-One Antenatal Classes

We had already been to NCT classes but we got a lot more out of just one session with Bridie. She really catered to our individual questions and needs and explained everything extremely clearly. It was really useful to have her check how we’d sorted out our home for the baby and as a mother and a midwife she was able to give us lots of really practical advice that you don’t get from normal midwife appointments or any of the books I’ve read. It was also very helpful to discuss our birth plan with Bridie – there’s never been enough time to go over this in much detail at midwife appointments at the surgery. Bridie is very calm, professional and immediately put us at our ease. We both felt very reassured, well-prepared and excited for the arrival of the baby after our session with Bridie, I would fully recommend her services.

Group All Things Labour & Newborn Ready Class

A big thank you for your antenatal classes; we used all the birth tips and advice we learned when my waters broke and when I was going into labour. We can’t thank you enough. Your classes were really helpful.

Lydia & Jake

One-to-One All Things Labour & Birth Class

Jake and I felt a bit lost with the labour process as first-time parents, especially how he could assist me in pain management. We thought it was vital that he gained an understanding of how to feel involved during the birth, and generally speaking, with so much information out there now, I felt almost overwhelmed at times. So we decided booking a one-to-one session with Bridie All about Labour & Birth would be a good idea.

Bridie was so informative in explaining each stage of labour and the tools and techniques that can be used to help coach me throughout. We both felt that we came away with a better understanding of how our labour could look and the knowledge of what was happening during each phase. Understanding what my body was doing during birth helped to squash my fears. Bridie was thorough in answering our questions and quick to reassure us of any doubts or confusion we had.

Thank you so much, Bridie, for helping us feel confident about this new experience. I urge anyone expecting to book a session to follow her Instagram page, as the information is so helpful.

One-to-One All Things Labour & Birth, Newborn Ready & Infant Feeding Class

My husband and I both found Bridie’s sessions really informative and reassuring.

We were also really relieved to find sessions that a trained/registered midwife ran (anyone can run antenatal classes), which was important to us. It was also good to get a
rounded idea of things from a real-life perspective, as Bridie is a mother herself.

The sessions were relaxed, and we felt that we got more out of them in a one-to-one format instead of a class. We also felt like this was really brilliant value for money as the classes via the NHS are expensive, and not all of them were relevant to us. Being able to choose what we wanted to learn about and the fact Bridie came to our home was really convenient and perfect!

Bridie followed up after the classes, too, which I found really lovely – each session and communication has a personal touch, and we can’t recommend her enough!

Emily & Baby Luca

Newborn Ready & All Things Labour & Birth Class

Our little Luca is 9 months old next week, and I had the most amazing birth with him. I truly believe a lot of that is down to my calmness from your guidance and knowledge. I had a very chilled water birth with no pain relief or intervention at all.

All Things Labour & Newborn Ready 1-2-1 Classes

Me and my partner are going to be first-time parents and we wanted to gain knowledge on what’s to come with labour and what to do at the newborn stage with a baby and advice we would need. We looked for antenatal classes when we came across Bridie’s page offering 1-1 classes. This, to us, sounded brilliant as we could easily take everything in comfortably and feel at ease to ask any questions. This was the best decision we ever made, and we couldn’t recommend Bridie enough.

Her professional knowledge is outstanding, and the advice and support she gave us was amazing. We feel so much more at ease since having our classes with Bridie, and we couldn’t thank her enough for making us feel no question was too silly and we could discuss anything with her. We highly recommend Bridie to anyone who is becoming a parent.

Birth Plan & Postnatally Prepped Course

Bridie was fantastic support and hugely practical. As a midwife and a mother, she has abundant knowledge and skills to help you through the unknowns of pregnancy and babies. Going through our birth options with Bridie was reassuring and invaluable when you are first time parents, leading her to write us a birth plan which reflected our wishes but was also flexible to changes that could take place.

Bridie ensured we were well prepared and organised, looking at what we had ready in our home. We also looked at practically preparing, and we went through packing our hospital bag. Bridie also gave us postnatal support, helping us establish breastfeeding by being both patient and empathetic; she also played a part in helping us to adapt in those initial days with our newborn, offering us lots of advice and reassurance.

Thank you for all your support! We cannot thank her enough; my husband and I highly recommend her.

All Things Labour & Birth 1-2-1 Class

My husband and I had a one-to-one class at our home with Bridie, and we did everything about labour and what to expect. Honestly, it was amazing, and both I and my husband felt prepared for what we needed to do and what labour looked like. When the time came, I was relaxed and calm; if it hadn’t been for Bride’s help, I wouldn’t have been as relaxed and confident during labour.

She showed us everything, talked about everything my body would do, and ways to help me relax and deal with the contractions.

I would use Bridie again if we have any more children, and I highly recommend her to anyone.

Even after I had my baby, Bridie was there to answer some questions and put my mind at ease.
There were also no silly questions for her, and I found her Instagram page helpful.
